Rice pilaf with meat, carrots, and spices.

Instructions

Step 1

Soak 2 cups of rice in water for 30 minutes. Prepare 1 pound of meat by cutting into pieces and seasoning with salt, pepper, and traditional spices.

  • 2.00 cups rice
  • 1.00 pound meat
  • 1.00 teaspoon salt
  • 1.00 teaspoon spices

Step 2

Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a large pot. Brown the meat on all sides. Add 1 sliced onion, 2 cloves of minced garlic, and spices. Cook until fragrant, then add 4 cups of broth or water.

Step 3

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes until meat is tender. Drain the soaked rice and add to the pot. Cook for 20-25 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
